Condor Ferries is offering two for one day trips to Guernsey this spring as part of National Ferry Fortnight (5-19 March 2016), meaning passengers pay just £30 and can take a friend for free.
In-line with this year's National Ferry Fortnight 'Be a Ferry First Timer' theme, the day trip offer is perfect for discovering ferry travel or the Channel Islands for the first time. Costing just £30, day trippers can take a loved one or friend to the largest of the Channel Islands for free, leaving them with some extra money to enjoy the Islands' delights.
With beautiful beaches, stunning scenery, delicious food and plenty of duty-free shopping, Guernsey is an ideal day out destination. Situated in Baie de St Malo between England and France, the Channel Islands enjoy some of the best weather in the UK and can be reached in less than three hours.
Travelling onboard Condor Liberation from Poole, day trips begin with a relaxing cruise across the English Channel. Although one of the busiest shipping routes in the world, the English Channel is also home to a variety of whales, dolphins and sea birds - sharp-eyed passengers could be lucky enough to catch a glimpse.
Arriving in Guernsey’s beautiful capital, St Peter Port, passengers can enjoy its cobbled streets, picturesque seafront marina and historic gardens. Just a short walk from the town centre and situated at the mouth of the harbour is Castle Cornet, an 800 year old castle which houses five museums and four period gardens and provides a fascinating insight into the history of the Islands. Those wanting to learn more can also visit the Guernsey Tapestry at the Gallery in St James Concert Hall, wander through the stunning Candie Gardens or explore Hauteville House, once home to French writer, Victor Hugo.
For those visitors wanting to take it easy, relax and unwind, there is a wide variety of restaurants and eateries where you can sample mouth-watering local seafood. Visitors can also take advantage of some great duty-free shopping, where big savings can be made on jewellery, photographic and electrical goods.
Whilst onboard Condor Liberation, day-trippers can also enjoy Adore Duty Free Shopping with savings of up to 40% on a wide range of wines and spirits, perfume and cosmetics, confectionery and toys. And with no luggage restrictions on Condor Ferries, there’s no excuse not to splash out.
Travelling onboard Condor Liberation, passengers can enjoy a choice of three seating lounges, including two upgrade areas and a wide range of eating and drinking outlets.
Justin Amey, Head of Marketing at Condor Ferries, commented: “We’re delighted to be taking part in National Ferry Fortnight once again, and to offer customers an opportunity to enjoy a great day out with a friend or loved one for free. Day trips are an ideal way to visit somewhere new, and with our special offer, we hope to encourage a new wave of passengers to try ferry travel for the first time and enable even more people to discover the delights of the Channel Islands."
