Condor Ferries has safety all rapped up, being the first ferry operator to produce the onboard safety video to feature a rap.

Condor Ferries is launching its brand new state-of-the-art Condor Liberation with a brand new mission statement: Good Times. And in order to live up to its promise, Condor is ensuring every part of the customer’s journey is as fun, and enjoyable as the rest of their holiday - and the onboard safety message is no exception. So instead of a sombre cabin crew pointing towards exit doors, Condor Ferries has created a rap video, featuring a silky smooth captain, a sassy stewardess, and a street-wise steward.

As well as being fun and catchy, the rhymes also help passengers to remember the instructions, making it clearer, and more helpful than traditional safety announcements. The video will be broadcast from 27 March on all sailings between Poole and the Channel Islands.

The idea was conceived and produced by Bournemouth-based Walker Agency, working closely with the Condor Ferries safety, marine operations and marketing teams. 

Alicia Andrews, Executive Director – Commercial at Condor Ferries, said: “We’re really proud of the new safety video, it’s been a very fun project to work on, and we’re delighted with the results.  Our brief was simple, we wanted something a little bit different, something that our passengers would sit up and take notice of, and which would appeal to all members of the family.  We think that the rap, with the Good Times messaging does just that! 

“Ferry travel is very family-friendly, there are no restrictions on the amount of luggage you can bring – you can pack everything in to your car, and off you go.  We hope that our passengers, whether they are frequent travellers or joining us for the first time this summer will enjoy the video and their Good Times experience onboard Condor Liberation as we set sail to Jersey and Guernsey.”

As the only trimaran ferry of its kind in Northern Europe, Condor Liberation offers seating for up to 880 passengers, in three seating areas, and up to 245 vehicles. Sailing daily from Poole to the Channel Islands throughout the summer, the 102m ship offers more opportunities to travel, improved reliability and a much greater level of comfort with smoother journeys. 

Although demand is already high for the first sailing from Poole, spaces are still available for booking.
