A culinary getaway this half term with Condor Ferries
Fans of fine dining looking for the ultimate foodie getaway this October half term need look no further than a short ferry journey across the English Channel, to the beautiful islands of Jersey and Guernsey.
Taking place from 1st October - 11th November, the well-known Tennerfest – an annual food event offering fixed price menus from £10 per person – offers autumn visitors the chance to experience the culinary delights of the Channel Islands. Now in its 17th year, the event will bring together over 200 restaurants across Jersey and Guernsey for a gastronomic extravaganza celebrating the very best local produce and innovative cooking.
Surrounded by crystal waters that yield an abundance of quality seafood, combined with rich fertile farmlands, it’s no surprise that dining is important to the islanders. In celebration of this varied and delicious cuisine, visitors will have the opportunity to meet local chefs and take their pick from a whole host of cafés, bistros, gastro pubs and traditional seafood restaurants. And, families looking for a short break can take advantage of safe, sandy beaches, stunning scenery and a wealth of great attractions in-between meals.
Alicia Andrews, Sales & Marketing Director at Condor Ferries, commented: “Tennerfest is a fantastic initiative that has always proved popular with our guests, and is a perfect reason to head for the Channel Islands this half term. Whether you’re getting your first taste of Channel Island cuisine or are a regular visitor, we look forward to welcoming guests on board for a real taste of the Islands.”
