Condor Ferries will be sailing into Poole Quay for the third year in a row, with a day of free fun for all the family on Tuesday 15 April. The fast ferry Condor Express will make a striking sight, moored at Poole Quay and open to all from 1.30pm until 8pm (last entry 7.30pm), allowing local residents and Easter visitors to take a tour of the fast ferry, visit the Bridge, meet the Captain, and learn more about day trips and holidays to its destinations in the Channel Islands and France.
Representatives from Jersey, Guernsey and St Malo tourism organisations will be onboard offering information about activities, events and accommodation in the Channel Islands and the Brittany region of France, perfect for a family break this year. Visitors can benefit from exclusive offers only available on the day, including 50% off day trips, as well as being able to sample local delicacies including Jersey black butter.
The Open Day will also be helping to celebrate Condor Ferries’ 50th anniversary, with the first ever sailing from the Channel Islands to France taking place in 1964. Condor Express will be decorated with gold balloons and bunting, and visitors can take part in themed activities on board, including a 50th anniversary quiz.
Justin Amey, Marketing Manager at Condor Ferries, said: “Our open days have become hugely popular over the past couple of years, so we’re delighted once again to be offering local residents and visitors to Poole the chance to come on board one of our fast ferries and find out for themselves about our destinations in the Channel Islands and St Malo.
“It’s a great opportunity for people to have a look behind the scenes of the workings of the fast ferry, get the chance to meet the Captain and even win their own holiday. This event is particularly special, as the company marks 50 years of business – a fantastic achievement. We look forward to welcoming many visitors on board.”
